Greetings, KevG, and happy belated 14th 'birthday' on here!
For a quick FF piece, I thought this was pretty cool. The idea of being a hermit and/or introverted to the point where hearing that other person's voice on the phone is definitely wild, and strangely enough, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that there really are people who would do something like this!
Your descriptions were great as you spoke of quitting your job and sitting by the phone for hours on end, and writing it in the first person was perfect!
Kind of reminds me of something out of The Twilight Zone!
