Greetings, Samuel!
For such a short piece, this says that may or may not be about you, but whether it is or isn't, I can totally relate to it!
I was kind of popular in high school, but I've changed a lot since 1983 (my graduation). I got married, had two children, held a decent job, and stayed in the small town where I grew up.
But something happened during those years, and I don't really know what. Now I'm a 54 year grandfather and I'm as introverted as hell! I'm even a little agoraphobic, too, scared to death of being around crowds of people. I don't hardly talk to anybody. Granted that might be because I live by myself, but to be honest, I don't think I could live anybody else!
Sad, huh? *Sad* Not really.
In my later years I finally decided to get serious with my writing, which I've done all my life. I joined this site, and now have 12 different pieces published by 8 different publishers. Like you, I love to write, and I can be myself on here without worrying about it. In fact, I've made more friends on this site than I think I have in my whole life! At least friends that I think truly care about me, and that means a lot!
Do I WANT friends in real life? Hard to say, considering how many times I've been &%$@ed over by my other so-called friends. Maybe, but for now I'm content just being me and being able to tell my stories on Writing.Com to my friends and fans!
OK. Sorry. I went of the rails there, huh?
But I want you to know that if this IS based on you, you have nothing to be ashamed of worry about, and you are not alone!
Kee ponw ritin gon, my friend, and welcome to WdC! If you like to write (and you said you do!), then you're going to love it here!
PS-You might want to get your bioblock (biography) set up so we can know a little something about you (hobbies, favorite books/authors, location, etc.), but that's up to you, of course.
