Greetings, Slam!
This is kind of strange, but I'll be darn-goshed if it doesn't make sense!
The idea of saving our breath by not talking is great, and I can't believe nobody has thought of this before!
I'm not a big fan of technology--in fact, I've always said that it would be the downfall of civilization, if not the complete end of it, but you've given me food for thought with this! In this day and age of being able to simply text our thoughts without using our breath, we could indeed live at least a decade longer!
No longer would we have to teach our children to talk! We could simply put tape over their mouths from the moment they exit the womb, thereby saving them precious oxygen and allowing them to live longer and more productive lives!

One tiny niggle:
'we will never be truly advance as a society'
For as young as you are, I can tell you have a lot of potential as a writer, my friend, and I urge you to continue!
