Greetings, Cynaemon, and happy 16th 'birthday' on here!
This is a nice little tribute to a young and good friend of yours, and I'm so sorry to you had to experience a loss like that at such an age. I wasn't old enough to go Vietnam, having been born in 1965, but I had a brother who went over there and was wounded.
You did a really good job of writing this, as well as showing how stunned and saddened you were when your principal announced that sad news to you.
Well done, Cynaemon. It really is amazing how one day can change so many people's lives.
One tiny niggle (twice):
'Viet Nam' should be 'Vietnam'
