As a co-participant in "I Write in 2020" , it is my pleasure to review your contest entry.


Overall Impression/Emotional Impact:
A lovely poem about someone clearly special. It's a wonderful feeling to have a soft place to fall when the world gets too hard.

Form, Format, Rhyme and Meter (as applicable):
Nicely done free verse. However, free verse isn't entirely 'free'. It's important for the word to have rhythm and flow so that the reader can be pulled by the emotion, which you accomplished.

Grammar, Spelling and Mechanics:
I didn't see any spelling errors.

My only comment would be to take a closer look at the punctuation. I am no expert on punctuation in poetry, so I will refrain from making any other suggestions other than to take a closer look.

Closing Comments:
Lovely and romantic words... my favorite part are these lines:

Together we rise above
And our love endures
Burning bright
In a world prone to darkness.
