Hi there, Jack!
I know this is an older piece, so I don’t know how many of these ‘improvements’ you took yourself up on. I’ve read (and written) a few of these letters on here, and it always saddens me to see how many people set goals for themselves and don’t complete them. Writing is also major passion of mine, and I’ve been in your shoes when it comes to putting too much on our plate all at once. I could be wrong, but I think that’s what you did when you first joined. In fact, I just told a Newbie who set up a forum and literally jumped into getting involved with the community NOT to be disappointed if she doesn't get see a lot people joining her group.
And speaking of which, I see you still have your own blog/forum, "Invalid Item" , up and running. I thought I'd fanned that, but I guess I didn't. So after seeing it in your port just now, I made SURE to fan it! I even contributed to it a few times when you first started it.
As for your fans being disappointed, don’t quote me on this, but I’m pretty sure awardicons and Merit Badges don’t go away. The item they’re linked to will show ‘Invalid Item’ and the name of the awarder will show ‘Former Member’ though.
By the way, if you want to sign me up for "Dreamweaver Bar & Grill" , I’m all for it. I can’t promise how involved I can be, but I’ll try do what little I can.
You're a very wise man, Jack, and I admire you. You're also a very good writer/author with some excellent advice and opinions on the craft, so I'm hoping things have gotten better for you in these last couple of years!
