Lovely Image in March

*CakeB* HAPPY 7th WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews*CakeP*

Greetings Paul D !

What brought Hoovsie meandering in a space time continuum over to your port?

*Cow*I am reviewing your poem as a judge for "Journey Through Genres: Official Contest. Thanks for entering!

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I thought about love and loss and how scary that is. We never know how it will be until we face it. It's interesting the things and observations that the mind and memory hold on to. The comfort that is found here by facing it together is remarkable.

When I read poetry (any kind) I look for phrases or lines that stay with me. I found it here throughout in this inspiring poem.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This is my favorite passage:

"I hold my love in fading memory;
we laugh while watching a puffy white cloud.
Tired eyes, holding onto what used to be,
finally close. I'm covered by a shroud."

It brought to mind my parents and the love they had for each other and the sharing of the goodbye. One of the last things my Dad told me was to take care of my mother. He wasn't concerned so much with himself as he was with her. She loved those puffy clouds and when she was ill much later we would focus on those ourselves, so this has more than a romantic meaning to me, the use of that imagery.

My reviews are not meant to be harsh critiques or technical editing forays.. Rather they are efforts to communicate how I reacted to what I read and what it meant to me. That is how I enjoy my reading here and elsewhere - it's how I relate to it that determines my reactions.

This review was written and stored in my review tool on March 7, 2020. It will be sent when we are instructed to send out our reviews for the contest. If it is after March, I still wish you a belated Happy Anniversary!

It is my pleasure to read and review your work in 2020 and always! *Cow**Balloons**Type*
