*LeafO*  Welcome to WdC from the "Newbie Welcome Wagon *LeafO*

Hi hcpn59p14

It is my pleasure to read your poem, Ode to Concord, and give you a review. I would like to 'Welcome to WDC!'

*Twitter*Message/Theme: The message is about how the USA won their Independence. It's like anything, if you want something bad enough, you fight for it. This is what the people who came to America aimed for, to be free from the Tyranny from of the English who, I don't think back then, thought the people of these thirteen colonies would fight so bravely for what they wanted.

*Salute*Narrative/Style: The narrative is well done, each stanza teaches us what happened so long ago.

The style is history, which I wish they would teach in schools again.

*Tree2*Form/Flow/Tone/Mood: The form is a rhyming free form where the flow was smooth when read out loud.

The tone/mood is reflecting on an issue, how we won our independence on July 4, 1776, when brave men fought for us to be free. Today, it seems like they want to take that away from us again as they tear down our statues, wiping out all history of who those men were, and what they were responsive for. Some states mayors and governors are now dictating what we can do and not do, when to open our own businesses, go to church, etc.

*Painting2*Imagery/Pace: The imagery you use is excellent, "Burning from freedom's glad" & "Ragged makeshift lines, raised their muskets all."

The pace is perfect, showing how it all went down that faithful day.

*Poseyv*FAVORITE LINE:

Ragged makeshift lines,
Raised their muskets all,
Fighting with one mind,
For home and hearth and gall.

*BurstP*OPINION: I like these lines because it shows the bravery of our men, that they weren't in perfect line, weaning perfect alike outfits. Their minds were on one thing and one thing only, to be free, to run their own colonies.
