The Unicorn [E] As I was walking through the forest... |
It is my pleasure to read your poem, The Unicorn, and give you a review. Congratulations on your nine years with WDC! Message/Theme: I love the colors you picked to make this poem look like a rainbow, it makes it feel magical. I wrote a unicorn poem and a unicorn story which was both fun to write. A fantasy genre lets you write anything out of the ordinary, and just go with it. The theme: Unicorns are fun to write about. Narrative/Style: The narrative is well done, it let me go on this fantasy dream with you. How fun it would be to discover that this animal is real. If they are, let them be this colorful, with a fluffy coat. The style is fantasy, contest entry. Form/Flow/Tone/Mood: The form is eleven rhyming four-line stanzas. The flow is smooth and makes you smile as readers read through the end. The tone is pure delight. I wish I had dreams such as this! The mood is awe, solemn wonder. The mood is admiration, appreciative of the fantasy genre. It really does take you away to a dreamland of an adorable animal many little girls or boys wish they could see. Imagery/Pace: The imagery of walking through a forest feeling down. A unicorn appears before your eyes to cheer you up. The pace is smooth, taking you on a journey to a land of make believe. FAVORITE LINE: We stopped at a stream, I felt so tall and proud, like I was sitting upon a big fluffy cloud. OPINION: I know many little children would enjoy this poem. I like the emoicons of the a unicorn, grass, sun, Easter eggs and a bunny added for effect. Write On! Thank you for sharing your work with us!
