Oh my goodness! This is hilarious!
The title, brief description and cover photo work well with this anecdote. The anecdote itself builds beautifully and the punch-line ... *Rolling*

From the mouths of babes, indeed!

While the piece works as it is, I would like to know (if I'm not prying) the age of the two women. Knowing this at the outset would help me picture the scene more fully. And since this is autobiographical, maybe a bit of physical description of your Mom, to help me visualize her chastising the boy ... curly hair? Spectacles?

I'd suggest some WritingMl - font, size, line-spacing to enhance readability. And I think that last line should be a paragraph by itself.
