Wow.
What a powerful poem. I have often heard the theory that a person chooses life or death at that moment, and this brings it out in short, simple verse. The imagery is beautiful and the dilemma is relatable.

This poem works as is, with the person making the choice at the last moment.

I wonder, though if you'd like to try an alternative ending where it is left to the readers' interpretation what the actual choice was. I think it would be quite intriguing that way.

Would you like to center the poem and try some WritingML like font, size, italics?
