This was fantastic! It came up in my "Read & Review" tab but I usually skip over poetry as I don't write it and usually don't understand it. Yours was easy to follow and understand - it gave me a great laugh - So I'm glad I paused and glanced.

There's a song I vaguely remember about a "kookaburra sitting in an old gum tree etc". and never knew what any of it meant (we were just forced to sing it LOL)....but now I do - all these years later!!

What a brilliant way of comparing our language use and teaching something at the same time. Sometimes I think the only thing us westerners ever learned about Australia came from the movie "Crocodile Dundee" LOL.

I can't actually 'review' your poem since I don't know anything about the art of poetry writing - but did want to let you know that I read it and truly appreciated it!

At the very least, if I ever travel to Australia I'll have a little bit more knowledge and might actually understand what people are saying .
