Wow! It is truly an amazing short story. If your subconscious mind starts to scare something, it is very difficult to retain normalcy in your life. The story is based on this message.
The narrator of this particular tale is a woman. After reading a book, the life of the teller is never the same. She is young. So she will continue for the rest of her life with that terror.
It is a perfect short story. Only two characters are there. The narrator and her office colleague. The book creates fear is playing a key role in the story. After reading the book, she begins to see the shadow everywhere. Anxiety is very prominent. That is written all over her mind.
The pace of the story is fast. Overall, this performance mesmerized me.
My humble suggestion is to stay with the basics and entertain us forever.
Well done.
Keep writing.
