I have read this poem and enjoyed the story very much. I must say at times people are killed in the streets and your words bring me to this thought but you write about their playing which is of course far better then the story of a young boy growing to manhood.
He grows up and joins the Army to end his life for his country. This would be a good entry in my Veterans contest. I do note a couple of errors in exact rhyme. These are show to known in the first stanza and old to tolls in the 5th. You could have written: is sure to grow in that 4th line of the first and
for what time fortold in the last line of the 5th. It is your write and a very good poem. I only offer my opinion. I invite you to read one of mine.
