It is a very compact poem. It is his first piece of writing! This shows that will be a bright prospect for WDC. There is no doubt about it.
The poet is searching for his real identity. What he thinks these are in his calculation. Even, what he sees, hears and says these are also plays an invaluable role. Where does he go? Or where does he feel? These also play a crucial part.
We think to do a lot of things. The author also does the same. At least, some of them remain unfulfilled.
What does he see? He sees many things.
Most importantly, his family is getting smaller.
He hears many things, both expected and unexpected. The narrator shows cordialness to those people who are in the near now but never try to remember the old friends which is the ritual of this day. Though it is improper but happens so often in our lives.
The teller searches the dream here and there and, at last, finds the real truth that there is nothing to be so frustrated about. Darkness never lasts a longer period.
So, enjoy the life as he deserves.
It is a great realisation.
It is simply great.
