I'm JACE , and I have the honor of reading and reviewing your offering "Staycation " .

I invite your attention to the comments below. Please bear in mind these notes are from one on the outside looking in; ultimately only you can decide what's right for your story.

*Note1* Overall Impression. I do enjoy a good piece of satire. And your topic of remodeling hit very close to home. I just retired after owning and operating a custom cabinet shop for more than 30 years. My business doubled the first year of the pandemic.

I found people who were homebound for whatever reason were willing to make their home more livable, and were willing to pay.

I completely understand a homeowner's need to both keep costs down and others out of their home for health reasons. But construction costs and efforts are seldom easy to accomplish. As you detail so perfectly.

You describe a thoroughly undesirable Staycation. And I enjoyed reading about each step. It is distracting that the steps are not equated to days. I also find it distracting to have your word count listed in your title.
