Hello Joy

First impression:

A very insightful and complete account of the development of television. First uploaded to the site in 2001 and last edited in 2007, it completely leaves out the current version of TV watching, which is to use the internet as a transmission medium.

What works:

The text is easy to read and with its chronological order, even someone who doesn't understand all of the technological minutiae can follow along and "get it."

The paragraph breaks are not only at the proper logical places, but they also break up the text visually into chunks that are easy to track with the eyes. A very important thing when reading text on a screen.

What needs work:

Through closed-circuit television, security and surveillance problems are handled, and schools, businesses, hospitals augment their programs. *Right* this is a very long sentence that seems to have two distinct parts that would be better off separated into two sentences.

In 1873 two the Englishmen, May and Smith *Right* the underlined part needs to get fixed. Either "two English men" or "the English men."

Final thoughts:

I learned about the history of television in a recent journalism class. I have to say that your article went deeper and credited more people than my textbook. That is amazing. And it was not clear to me how much of an international undertaking the development of the television was.

The little anecdote about the BBC at the beginning and end of WWII was another unknown nugget of history for me.
