Hello Gaby ~ Keeper Of The Realm

First impression:

Anyone who wanted to take part in Game of Thrones 2024 had to read this survey page to understand what they were getting into.

What works:

This page was what helped me to decide that I wanted to take part this year. I am not sure if the page was edited a little or a lot, but I know a few years ago, I was apprehensive to play at Game of Thrones because I felt that too much was up in the air before the start of the game. It was this sentence that convinced me to go find a team to join:

the official game rules will be revealed right before the start of the game.

Even though it doesn't give anything away, I felt that I could leave before starting if things looked too crazy.

What needs work:

The page needs a Free Folk banner *Wink*

I think it would help if this page mentioned that Game of Thrones is an activity that will "challenge people to write, review, and take part in all that Writing.Com offers in many ways." This would not give away any of the Tasks, Doors, or specific challenges, but it would offset the feelings of "what even is this" that

Each year, the game is different and no one - including me - knows the rules

elicits.

Final thoughts:

The survey is a good way to get houses together. I have to admit that I would have never simply asked for a banner without knowing who is going to be part of my house. As a seasoned member on the site, I know who can get work done and who has a tendency to slack off. That being said, first timers who don't know how to start a house should be given a non-required answer option in which they can announce their desire to play and make those names available to houses with less than the maximum 5 at the beginning or maximum 6 after day 1. The game is a little to big for newbies, but newbies shuld be given a chance to take part if they want to follow a leader. There's an idea for next year.
