February is around the corner and Valentines Day is fast approaching. What do we love about February? Girl Scout Cookies!!

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES: Did you know that the girl scouts started baking cookies in 1917 as a way to raise funds. Nowadays girl scout cookies are BIG business. Two major companies bake the cookies. Yearly favorites include thin mints, samosa, and lemonades. From my research looks like boxes will cost 5.00. Who doesn't LOVE girl scout cookies?

What is your favorite Girl Scout Cookie?

Kids can drive parents crazy, but the 5 Love Languages for Children, a book written by Campbell and Chapmen, will help parents better understand and motivate their kids. Here’s a look at the love languages and a ‘review’ of the book from me.

There are five love languages which everyone understands: physical touch, words of affirmation, giving gifts, acts of service, and quality time.

Giving a child a hug maybe a simple act, but if it is that child's primary love language, then the child finds it especially rewarding.

Words of affirmation deal with spoken words. They include such phrases like "good job" and "you did great." Verbal praise can really fill a child's love tank if that is their primary love language.

Giving gifts is a way to let a child know they are important to us. It's a nice pick me up that can fill a child's heart with love if that is the child's primary love language.

Acts of service involve doing something for that person, for example, cleaning your child's room or helping them with their homework. This can be challenging for parents especially if they work full time.

Quality time is a love language that also speaks to the child's heart. By doing an activity like playing a game or reading a book to your child, that will help keep their love tanks full.

By helping to keep your child's love tank full, a parent will have an easier time disciplining their child when the need arises.

Some notes on the book: It’s available in print and ebook.

Chapman and Campbell have a writing style that is easy to read and engages the reader with it's conversational style. They use several scenarios and examples to highlight the positive effects of speaking one's love language.

The authors take great pains to explain their terminology. There is also a chapter on discipline and how it affects children.

Chapman and Campbell also take a chapter by chapter look at the defined love languages, which I found inspiring to me as a parent. They also look at the challenges a parent might face including divorce and other hardships.

The authors address the need for a parent to speak the other parent's love languages as well. There is a quiz you can use at the end of the book to help you identify your child's love language.

The book is an excellent tool in helping parents raise their children and understanding their motivations. The book talked to me, not above me, and it allowed me to explore my own feelings as a parent. I highly recommend this book.

It’s a great book to explore during Valentines Month. Valentines are for kids, too.

Yea: Constant Comment is my go-to favorite if someone asks. Earl Grey is a close second. My favorite romance. I’ve read good books in every one of the sections you posted. I’m not into romance anymore. I haven’t found a good writer that held my interest. I like a good paranormal or mystery. I wrote a paranormal short story that I would love to make it into a novel. It’s posted in the highlight

I found this vanilla chamomile that I love, and I'm not really a tea drinker. It smells like heaven and is the taste is so soothing. It is perfect for a cold, snowy night.

My husband makes a potato soup that is AMAZING. It is thick and cheesy and YUM. I could eat it all the time.

STEPH: I enjoy a good cheesy soup!
