Letter from the editor

Summer weather is here! The school year is winding down to a close, graduation parties are filling up peoples' schedules, and gardens are being tended. Its hard to stay motivated to write when there's so many things to do during the months of summer. Who wants to be inside when the weather is gorgeous, barbecues are fired up, and there are home improvements and landscaping updates to be made?

Remember to spend some time writing, if for no other reason than to exercise your writing muscle. Unsure of what to write? Check out one of the many summer contests being hosted on-site! Try one of the daily prompt contests for something short and sweet, or catch a round of the "SLAM! [18+] while you still have the chance.

Looking for something with a little less muscle work involved? You could always purchase a ticket to one of the lotteries or cast a bid in an auction. "Celebrities of Writing.Com Auction [E] is getting ready to hold at least one fundraiser for RAOK this month! The theme is travel, and there are lots of awesome items that have been donated.

Or, if you're looking for something to help you catch up on your reviewing, make sure that you keep an eye on "Invalid Item , where entrants get the chance to win some great prizes by reading and reviewing items in convention attendees portfolios.

And if you're not one who keeps busy outdoors during the summer, but rather stay inside to escape the heat, there'll be plenty of scrolling IM bots and fun things to keep your mind occupied.
