*Glassesb* A Second Look. *Binoculars*

Do you write for contests?

*Bookstack2* There are so many interesting contests to enter and opportunities to get your items noticed, read and even reviewed. Many authors answer the call of a prompt or theme, challenging themselves, revealing their skills, just for the fun, challenge and maybe a hope to win a prize among peers. As a judge, it can be really hard to choose winners when everyone does amazing and original work. Lucky there are rules and even some guidelines to help us decide on winners. *Wink* And we all know, if it is a contest, only a few can be chosen to win!*Smile*

*Smile*So don't be discouraged if you do not win as "writing is the thing" . I always find it a challenge to pick winners, yet, it has to be done a part of the process.

Still, don't give up~
*Questionb* Did you know there are some contests around now that will receive "older" and un-awarded pieces as qualifying items. So you could enter one of those other entries for a second look!

Contests like:
"The Humorous Poetry Contest takes new and older pieces that the owner has not reviewed.
"Shadows and Light Poetry Contest for free verse poems
"Second Time Around ~ Birthday Special on hiatus at present
"The Humorous Short Story Contest in the summer!!

or more specific topics: on veterans "HONORING OUR VETERANS

*Think* I don't know who first came up with the idea but it is awesome. *Cool* I do not remembering seeing such contests when I first joined and it is fun to sometimes go back and look at my older works that might fit in a contest now. As long as they follow theme or prompt so Make sure to read rules to be sure!

*Quill* To Blog or Not?

*Laugh*I am not really a typical blogger and yet since joining WDC have been lured into some cool blogging type activities that appealed to my muse! I noticed that someone was doing a poetry blog and that became an idea for my first blog...just sharing poems! *Fairy2* *Heart* Then there were blogging activities that used pictures as prompts, or music as prompts, and even a sharing favourite poetry for a month. I discovered that there was blogging for every one! *Delight* ( so I guess I ..er...blog! )

*Heartb* Blogging is a popular activity for writers and it is cool to get to know others and find such different styles.
Many of you are familiar with personal blogs and journals. Yep, you can set up your own and have it public or private.
