Letter from the editor

God wants us to be happy. The Lord wants us to experience joy in our daily lives. That is why joy is a spiritual attribute, while sorrow is an attribute of the material world. While our souls are partnered with our bodies, we experience both of these emotions. Sometimes we experience them at the same time.

Joy gives us wings! It carries us out of the mundane existence of daily survival. It makes it easier to deal with, what Shakespeare calls, "the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune." The problem is that, sometimes, we have to look for the drops of joy that fall on us each day.

The joy is there, waiting for us to open our souls and our minds to the beauty in the world. There is joy in the colors of dawn, in the laughter of a child, in the purr of a cat, or in a prayer of gratitude. If we cannot find joy anywhere else, we may want to go to one of the Holy Books. Just open a book of sacred scriptures, begin to read, and look for the verses of joy.

Once we begin looking for joy, we can find it. Joy is in the verses of the Bible, the Qur'an, the Bhagavad Gita, etc. When I want to find joy I go The Hidden Words, which was revealed by Baha'u'llah. I can open that book to any page, begin reading the pearls of wisdom it contains, and I can find joy.

What gives you joy? Is it writing a poe?. Walking in the rain. Meditating in the early dawn. Joy is everywhere if we just open our eyes and look. Please let me know where you find joy or what gives you joy.
