So little time, so much to do,
The Muse is stalled, the kids have the flu,
I so need to write, but my brain’s all tapped out,
Just take a quick peek, jump “IN AND OUT”
I am honored to be guest host for this issue of the Contests and Activities Newsletter.
There are so many Contests and Activities to spark the creative muse in our Community, many of which are in my “favorites” list. What to do, though, when I have but a little time, perhaps just minutes, to inspire a flagging Muse or wind down from a hectic day, or a rare moment of downtime to recharge at work?

In and Out ~ just like it says ~ one jumps in and reads, or posts, or shops, or blogs, or just says ‘hi’ and then jumps back out, all within minutes! Albeit with a smile or re-charged Muse.
Even finding an In and Out is quick and easy! Just click the pull down Item Jumps at the left of your screen to reach the In and Outs box. Soon you will find yourself just clicking your Favorites to reach several You’ve likely used them without even realizing it, if you’ve visited the Contests or Shameless Plug Page, both of which are In and Out Resources. Check out the icon that looks like an open door or window with an arrow flowing in and out through it
In addition to Resources, In and Outs are splendid venues for Raffles, Reviews, Journals/Blogs, and C-Notes, as well as interactive stories, poems, songs, even words If you have an idea tickling the back of your mind and want to bring it to life, try an “In and Out” ~ it’s a free, fun, interactive activity
Although I have several in my favorites, I just created my first In and Out this past week. It was as quick and easy to set up as it is to participate
To create your own In and Out in your Portfolio ~
 Select In and Out in the Writing Interactive section of New Items.
Enter the Title and Description as you would for a static item (story, poem, essay); set your content rating and any access restriction; then select the genres and post some keywords to draw searches.
Use the Item Body to describe the purpose of your In and Out in a bit more detail. It’s recommended that you keep it quick and simple, under 500 words.
Set the Item Type Specifics to personalize the appearance and format of your In and Out. I suggest you read "The Ins and Outs of In & Outs" for some great formatting examples as you are building your In and Out. You can always come back and edit or personalize the formatting as you like. At the least, I recommend you enter “COMMENT” in the “One Submission” prompt
Then finish building your item, edit, save and view, then watch members come and participate in your Activity
All you need is an Idea to open an interactive window to a piece of your world

I hope some of the following active In and Outs inspire your creative Muse, or delight your spirit, or entice you to create one of your own. Stop in and check them out ~ remember, it takes but a minute or two
