Writing.com lays out a scrumptious buffet for anytime of the year whether its a holiday or not. Nibble on snacks while you mingle, a full course meal with a variety of side dishes when you feel ready, and yummy desserts to top it all off.

Food? Well, it's not actually food for your tummy, but food to feed your mind. Begin by sampling tidbits of this-and-that as you become more familiar with the site, and most likely you will make a few friends on the way. The main course is anything you want it to be and the side dishes include a variety of options you may choose to pick over. There are plenty of desserts for your pleasure, also. Please indulge! *Smile*

Here is a sample menu:

Snack and Mingle

Here are just a few places to nibble on to help you get familiar with the site.

"Getting Started: Table of Contents

Main Course

Whatever is the focal point of your writing would be the main course. And like any main course, it does not have to be the same for every meal. As much as I love cheeseburgers, I could not eat them everyday. *Rolleyes* Well... on second thought. *Laugh* Or maybe you are not ready to post your work yet. You might, however, like to review. That also could be the main course. It's whatever you are concentrating the most on at the time.

Side Dishes

You may want to add more to your plate than just the main course. Why not sample a new dish... something you've never tried before such as another genre, images, a forum, or a blog? The side dishes available here are too numerous to list, but if you look under Site Navigation to the left of your screen, you will see what I mean. *Wink* Help yourself! And if you are unsure about any of it, please don't hesitate to ask.

Dessert

*Shock* Not full yet? *Bigsmile* Good! Now it's tiime for dessert. By participating in contests, you could possibly win gift points, awardicons, and/or merit badges. Join campfires, create your own madlibs, or take part in polls. There truly is something for everyone here, no matter what their tastes are.

You can only take in so much at a time. Perhaps your food needs to digest. Don't worry about the dishes... the table at WDC is set every single day. Be sure to bring your appetite and keep an eye out for new dishes being offered periodically. *Wink*

Have a happy and safe upcoming holiday and,,,

*Gift2* Keep on Writing! *Gift2*

Yours truly,

Excerpt: For hours we rang those bells, every time a car passed on the road. We would roll the windows down and shake and shake. Thinking to our selves “Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?” But no one seemed to be listening. Or so we thought.

Excerpt: Ellie Elephant lived in a jungle and dreamt of pulling Santa’s sleigh. She dreamt about doing just that on Christmas Eve and Day. She pretended in her bedroom that she was helping Santa Claus deliver toys, to all the good little girls and good little boys. She imagined her feet landing on a roof going stomp, stomp, stomp, as the reindeers’ hoofs went clop, clop, clop. She wanted to do nothing but help spread Christmas cheer, which is all she thought of since Christmas last year.

The little boy sat,
On the living room floor,
His eyes wide open,
At half past four.

But, seeing as I'm newbie like, I thought I'd try submitting something ^^

Dear Cubby

This was a GREAT newsletter. I loved all the quotes. They fill our ambitions, dreams, errors and hopes to a T and offer great advice as well. I am sorry I missed the pumpkin story. Where can I find it? You are doing a great job.

Writers are blessed with a gift to see the world through many different eyes. Writers are able to travel to another world without even leaving their desks. And writers are able to understand thing that could never be understood.

Very well stated. Thank you for sharing. *Smile*

Hello Cubby from a "Newbie".

I loved the quotes and your commentary! It was a perfect cocktail of inspiration and challenge. And forgive the pragmatism, as I am a true believer in passion- I loved that your editorial was constructive versus a forum for your opinion.
I'll be back for more on the 12th. AL

Thanks so much. *Smile* I hope to see you back here again!
