In researching for my next submission to the site Contest and Activities Newsletter, I came upon a 2005 newsletter featuring this contest. I was thrilled to see that this contest was still up and running, five years later.

I had asked readers for input, in the last newsletter, on whether or not they wished to see a monthly contest in my newsletters. Not having received any feedback on this issue, I thought it sounded like a good idea and have been racking my brain to figure out how to go about this task...then I found this contest.

What is it about this contest that has kept it running for five years? To start with, DEDICATION. Dedication from not only the host and judges of this activity, but also from fans of this contest. Hosting an activity month after month, year after year requires a great dedication of time and energy. Having participants return each month and year to compete for prizes takes great dedication from the entrants.

Perseverance, as somewhat discussed above with the return of entrants, also helps to keep this contest alive and flourishing. Each time an entrant returns, their effort and hard work is put on display and reviewed. They persevere to reach the prize for each month, through submitting their talent for review.

Hard work is also a factor involved in this contest, not only from the participants entering, but also from the judges. What happens if more than 100 entries are submitted? Then the judges have to go through and evaluate and read 100 items, each.

*Dollar*GPS- It takes many gps to keep something like this running for so long. There is at least 50k in prizes handed out each month, all depending on the amount of entries. Any and all donations are greatly accepted, and can be donated to "Bard's Hall Contest Prize Fund"   by StephBee - House Targaryen !

Having been in action now for five years and still running, this great contest is well deserving of some recognition. Whether you stop by to review, submit an entry, or donate gps, I urge all readers to take a moment to recognize this contests dedication to writers.
