Product Reviews
What is a Product Review: This site activity is an in-depth critique of movies, music or books given by Writing.Com members for the Amazon site.
What is the purpose of completing a product review: Much like book reports in school, these "great writing exercises" encourage us to not only read, but to think about what we have read, and sum it up for others in a coherent synopsis. Each product review helps support Writing.Com through the link to buy the reviewed product from Amazon.Com. Writing.Com then earns a commission on any purchases made through these links.
How can I show my support of this activity? There are several ways to support Product Reviewing. The main thing is to simply rate and review books and movies through the Writing.com Product Review application. Submit a review for each and every book or movie you watch.
 Go to your portfolio
Select Create an Item
Select Product review
Enter the ISBN # (found on the back of the book above the UPC bar code)
Fill in the blanks
You can further your support by then using the Writing.com link to Amazon to make your purchase based on these reviews, but that link is for another newsletter 
Enter the Product Review Contest at the end of this newsletter through the survey to further your support of Product Reviewing!
WDC IPhone/IPad/IPod Touch Apps
Speaking of product reviews, there are some new IPhone/IPad applications that are directly related to this community. Downloading them and then doing a product review on them will not only give you some new tools to help with your writing, but also help garner interest for the site as well. Use the Writing Prompts App to cure that WRITER'S BLOCK. Use the Toy Factory App to encourage toddlers to read and spell which are the building blocks for writing. Last but not least, the Dramatic Music App, well, wouldn't it make for some interesting occasions to write about when all has gone silent in the room and that SPECIAL SOUND came from nowhere?
In February 2011 news of Writing.Com Apps for Phone/IPad/IPod Touch hit the site. Delivered in a sitewide email, these Apps, though not on the site, are a fun tool which bring site related activity to your IPhone or IPad device. If all goes well these applications will be released for Android and WinPhone7 users in the future.
If you do download any of the applications, please be sure to go back and rate and review these items to boost the recognition of not only the site, but the great tools related to this writing community.
