Letter from the editor

         Well, hello again, my dears! How have you been? Enjoying your summer?

         I'm NOT!

         My neck of the woods has been enduring a heat wave that has me pretty convinced that we're preparing to give Satan a comfortable visit!

         Of course, the simple solution is turning up the air conditioner, but that's just not enough --especially at sunset when the sun comes directly through my window to burn my back while I sit innocently at my computer trying to think of some idea for a Poetry Newsletter. *Wink* I'm fairly certain that the only relief to be found is being Bogarted by the polar bears and penguins...

         The economy being what it is though, I doubt very many of us can afford to up and fly to Antarctica, so let's take a much cheaper route to cooler climates; forget Christmas in July, I'm on a mission to be transported to a world of snowfall in July!*Wink*

P.S. Wow... Sorry this is so short! I pulled a dumb move and bought those blasted, wasteful wide-ruled notebooks instead of my customary college-ruled so this seemed so much longer when I actually wrote it (yup... some of us still you paper and pen(cil). We're a rare breed nowadays, be we exist). *Wink**Kiss*

All too soon, autumn turns to winter.

Since some of you may not be so willing to dive right into a snow drift, I figured I'd ease you into it with Kenzie's beautiful poem of autumn. I was so thrilled by the scene she set to life before my eyes! Ahh... sweet relief...

This poem is short, sweet and just a delight! It gave me a visit to Illinois in winter and I got a good chuckle from it! *Delight*

Not only did Andrea show me a perfect winter scene in her poem, but she truly relayed the feeling of appreciating such scenes --something I'm definitely feeling right now!

So, I tried for one that might make me appreciate that's it NOT snowing and it almost worked... almost! Janice surely made me feel that way, but, as a housewife, I generally don't have to go out in the snow, so it doesn't bother me much. *Laugh* I prayed for a blizzard way past spring's arrival! *Wink*
