Letter from the editor

Love vs. Fear
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear..." 1 John 4:18

Love is the topic of many a story. Clean stories, dirty stories, true stories, fantasy stories - love, or at least the current world's idea of love - is everywhere.

Love in current times, however, seems to revolve around fear. The fear that one is cheating on another. The fear that the other has "fallen out" of love. The fear that one no longer satisfies their mate, or that there is someone else who truly holds their affections.

In fact, many "love" stories revolve around such fears. But then, what makes a good movie or book doesn't always make a lovely real life situation.

Truly, if it is real love, there should be no fear. There should be confidence. Confidence that one's partner loves them in return, confidence that they are in the right place, and confidence that there is real love in the relationship. Confident that, no matter what, your friends and family will be there for you.

There is one other whom we never have to fear the love of. God loves us, no matter what. We have nothing to fear in his love, and his love can help us cast out our fear.

Look for some real love this year. If you already have it, nurture it. Down with fear, and up with love!
