Letter from the editor

*FlowerT* Spring is in the Air *FlowerT*

Spring is a new beginning. Yes, there were New Year's resolutions. Those were good. For a couple of days. Then came the long dark days of February and so all good intentions went back to sleep. Now, it's time to wake up and get the year started for real.

About a week ago, a tree I have on my patio in a pot started flowering. It was a delightful surprise. This tree has lived on the patio for two years by now and never shown me more than green leaves or blank branches. This spring, it is finally showing its true colors. With a little luck and no pests to harm it, I may even get to taste a peach or nectarine from my own tree sometime later this year. I will be sure to report back when the fruit arrives.

Just like that tree, that took its sweet time to show me its pretty blossoms, most of us writers have that one story that lingers in the back of our mind or in the darkest and dustiest parts of our portfolios. Now is the perfect time to wipe the cobwebs off of it and really give it a good spring cleaning. Whether short story, novel, or epic poem give it some attention now. Read it, edit it, submit it. Be sure to keep a copy of its current version for reference.
