Hello and welcome to this issue of the Contests&Activities Newsletter! I'm Gaby and I'm your editor this week.

Letter from the editor

It's never a good thing for me to search for something which isn't a specific subject or item. My mind tends to go in all directions and random things will pop up and ideas plant themselves inside my brain, nagging, until it comes to fruition. You ever have that problem? Trouble is, I don't know how to pawn an idea onto someone else and just be happy with it. It has to be me who does all the work.

Searching WdC for random contests to participate in is easy; actually taking part in them is the hardest thing for me to do. I get distracted quickly but I love supporting contests and activities which are unique.

First thing that catches my eye is how it's set up. Is it easy on the eyes or is there too much color distracting from the actual activity? For me, banners which fit the theme are a must. It's almost as if I judge the book by its cover. *Wink* Everything matters though.

Secondly, how things are aligned plays a big role as well. Are the contests better aligned on the left or is centering them a better choice? How about the right ride? Some activities are more catchy if they go back and forth.

Thirdly, rules which are in reality the most important part of the set up. My personal preference would be to have them aligned on the left for easier reading. I just have trouble concentrating on them when they are in the center with everything else. Even if there's a big sign which states clearly Rules my mind keeps skipping over it no matter how hard I try. If you ever took part in any of my activities, you'd have noticed that stubborn fact.

Last but not least, donations. Even though they aren't part of the actual activity they do matter. While having a list of donors is nice, I always like to see who donated how much. It has nothing to do with vanity - we all donate as much as we can, whenever we can - I just like seeing it. I always look at the donors list and when there aren't numbers posted next to their names, I always wonder. It could be an OCD thing. *Laugh*

When I see an activity then click on it, I check forum posts right after I glance at the header. If it's bustling with posts, I look to see what the fuss is about. If it isn't, I look even more closely to see what could possibly be an improvement.

And trust me, there's always room for improvement. I should know! *Bigsmile*

'til next time!
