New Year Was Too Long Ago


Those pesky New Year's resolutions already slipped away in the mists of time.


At the end of 2017, you decided that 2018 was going to recreate you into a whole new you. You were going to do so many great things. Write more, eat better, exercise, drink enough water ... whatever you thought you weren't good at, 2018 was going to be the year that was going to fix all of that.

Now, it's January 10th, and you only found time to write a few words, you really like to eat chocolate cookies, the gym is hard to get to, and water doesn't taste fun. You have all the excuses in the world. After all, it's January 10th, so 2018 is just not performing as expected. May as well tell that to the resolutions.

But not so fast! I all you wanted to start over with a clean slate, who said the day to start had to be January 1st? Every day is a new day. Every week begins with a new Monday, and every month has a first day.

Not only that: You can even have a whole new New Years Day as long as you look around in the world a bit as 2018 has plenty of New Years Days:

The Chinese New Year is on February 16.
The Aztec New Year is on February 23.
The Iranian New Year is on March 21.
The Cambodian New Year is on April 13.
The Bengali New Year is on April 14.
The Jewish New Year begins on September 9.
The Islamic New Year begins on September 11.

So pick a day. Any day you want to start your own personal New Year and write, take part in contests, look around for some fun activities, and do any other thing that you thought was somehow tied to January 1, 2018.
