Gone Fishing


What happens when you run a contest or an activity, but you are going on vacation?

As the host, you made a promise to all who participate. The promise that you will provide leadership during the contest by answering questions, as well as sending reviews and prizes in a timely manner.

Life happens and so delays, breaks, and absences can happen even to the most dedicated host.

When you are that host, you have one powerful weapon. The pen! In our case, the proverbial pen is a keyboard.

1. If you have a group, send a group email explaining your absence, ideally with a date when you will return.

2. Leave a note in the forum. Tag anyone associated with the activity or contest in it.

3. Ask for help. Appoint one or two emergency hosts with access to gift points and group merit badges to ensure your participants will receive their rewards.

By following these simple steps, you can go on vacation with a good conscience and come back energized.
