Procrastination
When it comes to procrastination, I'm a professional. If I can put something off, I will. The trouble is, as I get older, I forget I put it off and it never gets done. I've developed a bit of discipline over the years with sitting down every morning to write. It's what I do after I write that I dilly-dally around. I'm horrible with grammar, so editing is a chore for me. I'm sure there are people that enjoy digging in and making it perfect, but I try to at least make it easy to read.
I've never gotten what people describe as "writer's block". I find plenty of things to write, having several novels in progress and ideas from starting entries for contests. It's getting them finished and submitted that is the hard part. I have pieces and parts in folders on my comp. I figure some day I'll wrap up one of these stories and have something to submit. Or my kids will inherit the whole mess. *laughs*
What motivates me sometimes is a deadline. Or a story that interests me enough to stick with my characters and the story they tell. All the words are often in my head, they merely need to be typed into the computer. But then this nice pen distracts me...or that wonderful smelling candle. It's pitiful, I tell you! You too? I knew it!
There are groups in our community that help keep you writing and motivated. If you have time to join and network, try it out. Sometimes talking or blogging about your story with others help you sort out what you're doing and where you are headed. If they have time to read some of your work, perhaps they can suggest what kind of edit to focus on. Another set of eyes can sometimes be invaluable.

Last month's question: Besides writing, what creative things do you do?
Quick-Quill  replied: Well, let me tell you. I love to crochet and paint. I painted a picture for my boss that said. “In the morning when I rise give me Jesus and coffee”. There was a to-go cup in the center. It was mostly painting over a traced format but I had fun. I love painting ceramics and I color. I have a coloring app on my phone. I also have pens and markers.
Monty  responded: In answer to your question What creative things do I do other than writing. I do a little landscaping and soon will be doing snow plowing, Not really very creative.
BIG BAD WOLF is hopping  said: I play D+D 5th Edition. I also ride a horse.
🌑 Darleen - QoD  admits: Painting at paint nite events has been my other creative outlet!! I used to draw alright as a kid, but I've been surprised at the creativity I've been able to produce and add to each of the paintings. It's quite addictive!! I don't have enough wall space for all my new art!
murli  tells: Hi I am Murli and try to give you my understanding about mind and brain and creativity. We should separate at first these three objects! The physical vehicle of our body need a central processor like CPU in your laptop. that could be the brain. CPU alone has no meaning. An environment must be connected to it. it could be the hard-body. Than we should have a specific software for running the CPU. It could be the genetic Codex for all living thing. Therefore the brain is limited by genetic codex. The human being but hat much more ability to learn and expands his or her knowledge. and so a dolphin  Also training make muster. technology,in my opinion, is an aid. now the mind can only do its job, when the body and brain are in a good condition. At least we have the spirit, which act like electricity by Computer, to bring it to life.

Anna Marie Carlson  affirms: I am very creative in my drawing. I was told that I could do my own illustrations for my books. I am still learning, however I sometimes impress myself by what I come up with. I also get creative when I dance freestyle.
MiralMS posts: This is quite a recent creative pursuit, but I really enjoy taking photographs. I'm partial to shooting plants and flowers, and then landscapes, no matter where I am. However, I use not very sophisticated cameras, and have never tried to receive any formal training in this skill. I believe that such creative interests that require me to be in the moment build Mindfulness, which certainly helps me focus & concentrate when I'm writing.
jdennis  replies: I mow the grass. Of course then I have to fertilize and water it so that I can cut it again next week. So I guess I don't really do anything creative, but I like the pretty green carpet it makes in the front yard.
preksha says: Although writing is my childhood passion and hobby which now has turned into my lifetime profession is like igniting my creativity but there are other inclinations that give me immense pleasure are namely as jewels designing,craft work,painting,drawing,hand embroidery,wall hangings etc.I am
an extremely creative person who never gives up easily whatever the circumstances I face in daily life n thanks to writing.com as it has helped me a lot to achieve milestones on the road to writing.

Most of what I do, I would consider "multi-media", because much of my creative endeavors crossover.

I have more interests than time!
s confesses: I'm learning guitar and I like to draw (as bad as it is). I also like nature photography. And I cook. But, realistically, when I'm not studying or doing computer things, 90% of the time I'm doping something writing related.
Shurtski posts: I do graphic art and practice musicianship.
Paul  responds: Being crippled has put a real dent in what I can do any more. I guess “Dent” is too mild, “a disaster has occurred here” would be more appropriate. All of my wood working, school sawing, automobile care, shooting, everything that requires standing up is gone. I still sew, when I can. I make clothes and all kinds of other stuff, mostly for grand kids now. I own 2 Pfaff sewing machines and a double needle serger. I also facet gem stones. I do not cut diamond, that equipment is more than I want to pay. I do own 2 faceting machines, a Raytech Shaw (my favorite) and an Ultra Tech.
TheBusmanPoet advises: Other ways to use your brain. Enjoying a good chess game [win or lose]. Board Word Games [scrable, boggle, word up etc.]. Anything that will make you think and fire up those neurons.
As the old saying goes. An idle mind is the devil's work and the devil is Alzheimer's, Dementia etc.
Steve Joos tells: I try to do voices and comedy.
Milhaud - Long Tail says: I cook.
balloon responds: Sing, sketch, paint, create.
Dawsongirl reveals: I get tired of talking to myself, so I make up imaginary characters to talk to. 
shepherd46 tells: Besides writing, I knit, sing and sometimes rearrange small pieces of furniture and appliances. Rearranging and relocating things, gives me a new outlook.
Scifiwizard Retired replies: I like to make something out of nothing. For example, I put an old Singer sewing stand and a burned out speaker together making a two drawer desk.
