Something happy in all this darkness.
Salt your wounds.
Butterflies make you smile.
Dance to your own drum.
Pretend no one is watching.
Sing as loud as you can.
Listen to yourself every once in a while.
Never forget an open wound,
But remember to drown in his tears.
Don’t cry when you should comfort,
Don’t comfort when you need to cry.
Try to make things better.
Butterflies make you smile.
Write down things that make you happy,
Like all the times you smile.
Write down why,
Butterflies make you smile.
Keep in touch with old friends.
Keep your head in the clouds,
And your mind in the gutter,
But only with another mind,
As dirty as your own.
Keep in mind how beautiful you are.
Keep your head off the chopping block.
Remember what made you happy yesterday.
A silly saying,
In a funny voice.
Love more, hurt less.
Keep the wound covered.
Don’t let some one run into it,
Reopen it.
Butterflies make you smile.
You never know when your smile,
Will cheer up some ones day.
Don’t be scared of getting hurt.
Just keep friends close enough,
For that hug,
That will make that pain,
Go away.
Never go out with out a smile on your lips,
A song on your tongue,
Laughter in your eyes,
And your hand reaching out,
For a friend you don’t know.
When you get a smile back.
Remember to tell them,
“Butterflies make you smile.”
