My personal feelings about no longer allowing others to play me as the fool.
You’ve tormented me

With your mind games

And yet, I don’t walk away

Foolish me I can’t

You’ve degraded me

With your words

But I don’t say a word back.

I forgave you time and time again

You’ve disrespected me

As a mother and a woman

And I still show you respect

Guess I am the fool

You’ve deceived me

With your words and actions

And I continue to believe in you

Again the fool

You’ve bruised me

Physically with your hands and fists

But I don’t defend myself.

Silly me…

You’ve told me

To stay away

And then you drag me back.

I guess I never learn

You’ve told me

I am useless and no good

But you want me to do things for you.

Actually believed you…

You’ve told me

How foolish I am

And I’ve let it go

Guess you were right….

But no more

It’s my turn to speak

And your turn to listen

I’m no longer the fool

The things you did

Were not ok!

I won’t stand for it no more!

I’ve finally learned my lesson

I am stepping up to the plate

The foolishness ends now

So listen up……

No longer will I be your fool!!
