lots of questions in new relationships...
breathing unsteadily into the darkness, soon to be followed by tears. Innocence, pure innocence, gradually fading away. You said you'd be there, so why didn't you make it stop? Breathe, just breathe. Focusing on that to ignore reality. If you could, would you make it go away? Turn back time so I could never be hurt? Never experience dissapointment? Betrayal? Pain...? Would you create me a life void of broken promises? Would you always smile in the hope that I would never have to see a frown? Would you live for me so that I might not have to... So trusting, so forgiving. Dissapointment all to present. Becoming more revealed everytime you attempt to conceal it. For I am no longer naive. No need to sugar-coat. You can't change my past, so help me mold my future. And smile not to protect me, but to open my eyes to reveal happiness despite pain. And love me not to shelter me, but to let me experience life as opposed to just existence. And hurt me... not to inflict pain, but to help me appreciate myself and my independence that much more.
