Inspired by Garth Brooks' song, 'The River'
The River.

“You know a dream is like a river.
Ever changin' as it flows.
And a dreamer's just a vessel.
That must follow where it goes.
Trying to learn from what's behind you.
And never knowing what's in store.
Makes each day a constant battle.
Just to stay between the shores…”

“And I will sail my vessel.
‘Til the river runs dry.
Like a bird upon the wind.
These waters are my sky.
I'll never reach my destination.
If I never try.
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry.”

I was listening to this song the other day by Garth Brooks and trust me every time I listen to this song, there’s always a tear in my eyes. It is the most profound thought that I could ever think of. Time and again I’ve thought about this song and how it applies to our lives.

Imagine yourself in your dream; you see a goal that’s right in front of you. But the path is unknown. Like the river there are twists and turns, ups and downs. In fact your dream changes every moment. That’s the constant battle you go through; knowing the fact that there are going to be dry spells, rough waters ahead. You know, you won’t give up until the river runs dry. You know you’ll have to sail your vessel, till the river runs dry.
Then there are those times as well, we just let things go by and give up, knowing that deep waters are waiting to pounce upon us. Too many times we wait, wait for the right time, maybe today or tomorrow. But the fact is, today or tomorrow it’s something we’ll have to face. So might as well get moving with our vessel and sail on till the river runs dry, for tomorrow will soon become today.

Rightly said Garth, “Choose to chance the rapids, & dare to dance the tides.” It’s this moment of truth that will take you through. It’s this time that you have to make use of. No matter what, there’s born to be rough waters and yes we will go through turmoil but what about this, ‘With the Good Lord as my captain, I can make it through, them all.’

This is the time, time to go on and give your best. The rest is all in HIS hands. All you got to do is keep on sailing, till the, ‘River Runs Dry.’
