Laundry
To the tune of I’ve been working on the Railroad

I’ve been working on the laundry,
All the live-long days.
I’ve been working on the laundry,
Just to get it over with.
Can’t you hear the dryer beeping?
Time to go and fold some clothes!
Can’t you hear your mother yelling?
“Do the laundry, NOW!”
Laundry won’t you go?
Laundry won’t you go?
Laundry won’t you go for evermore?
Laundry won’t you go?
Laundry won’t you go?
Laundry won’t you leave for good?
You can never finish the laundry,
You can never finish, I know.
You can never finish the laundry,
It’s the everlasting job.

Picking Up
To the tune of Mary Had a Little Lamb

Once there was a little house,
Little house,
Little house,
Once there was a little house,
In a town called Maybee.

Every day the kids cleaned up,
Kids cleaned up,
Kids cleaned up,
Every day the kids cleaned up,
But it would not stay clean.

The cleanest rooms were piled with stuff,
Piled with stuff,
Piled with stuff,
The cleanest rooms were piled with stuff,
From the floor to ceiling.

Those poor kids were forced to clean,
Forced to clean,
Forced to clean,
Those poor kids were forced to clean,
Every single day!
