A fragment of my romantic history
Second choice of one who's heart belonged to another
Wind, snow, hail
Shroud the embers of her heart.
She becomes cold, hard.

Inflicting pain brings her joy.
Heart to stone, tears to pearl
She can love no more.

Hark- Cupid's arrow
Her eyes fall on an angel
Dark hair, colour of gold
Eyes which see the light she can no longer behold
Words which speak only of love.

He speaks
She falters

He touches her

Stone is turned to flesh
Blood through veins
Tears from glands
Wings, halo

Two angels taking flight
Free to love.
