Answer me, O Winds of the East
Carry me on the wide wings of dream
To those other shores of which I see
And are no more but a memory
The aftertaste of life is bittersweet
I smell the fragrance of old hopes
Carried by wind from candles long burnt out
And taste the sweet, sweet memories
The love for which I sought so long
Matters not, for it was the search that I loved
Because in searching, I found myself
In sweet remembrances I still wander that path
Searching for that I should have seen before
But waited too long, and found that it lay in the past
Tell me, East wind, what did I seek?
It surely was not as I thought
But something that still hides in memory
It hides inside my dying song, a hidden melody
