Short poem about self-injury. WARNING: may contain triggering mat. for certain individuals
The artist in me
Tells no lies, gives no false promises
I'm honest and I've told you that I'm through
Through meaning over, its over, yes
I smile as I paint our portrait
Big smiles masking mistrust, confusion
Both our fault and neither our fault

I smile as I carve a heart for you
Etched in blood; I am not heartless, see
I hurt myself for you and me
Razorblades express my love and fear
Dripping sorrow and red lust

Pain is a constant for us both
So I give this to you; as my hope
For one day I will cry again
You'll be strong again
There'll be pain again
But Hope that we will use it better
Feel it and let it wash over us, and past
Not touching
Sinking in
Sticking
Tacky
Slimy
Suffocating
Red etched fear
That bogs us down forever
