Kids these days are no longer "kids"
Three kids on their way home from the park see that there is a fire-engine standing in front of their house and part of their house is on flames.

The 16 yr old running towards the house shrieks: " The computer!!", the 14 yr old follows suit crying: "The stereo!", the 10 yr old following them, shouts in a questioning tone: "Mom"??!!

So does it make me sound like a regular grandmother when I say "Kids these days!" But honestly, I was never like this! I mean, 6 year olds losing their temper's?? What's the world coming to?? So who's to blame? If indeed, blame is to be directed at someone or some situation, which is responsible for the henious little scamperings we have before us today. Me, being a twenty something unmarried female, is sometimes, if not often, completely speechless at the direct and quite often rude replies of the underage.

So is this a "big deal"? Don't we have bigger problems to deal with? Arguments for both sides can be made. But if you think about it, these kids are our future. They are the next generation, they are the ones who will be responsible for what we leave behind. So isn't it important that we make sure that our future is in responsible hands?

Agreed, there are different ways to bring up your child, but don't you think that there is a line that shouldn't be crossed? Confident kids, yes, independent kids, great! But rude? insulting? Is it not wrong for parents and elders to say "Oh how cute!" to an impolite remark made by a 6 year old??

I may not be an authority in this manner, but I do think that kids these days are generally materialistic and disrespectful at times. Here, the onus is on the parents/guardians. So here I appeal to all those involved, please make sure your kids grow up to be kind and caring individuals. Good people, good future.
