Life, death, the afterlife, and a man realizing he may have made a tiny error.
Too Many Angels

I stare upon white that is dimly lit,
While my low-heart beats and soon will plummet.
I step lightly across a shadowy maze,
But there's greater darkness locked in my gaze.

I then slip and struggle and curl on the floor,
As men grimly stare in silence, and abhor.
Pity my ruin has clasped my tongue,
For I savor their study and expression of stun.

A tearing at my body seems proper to pretend,
Since added action will do no harm to my end.
So my hands lash out, to pull atoms apart,
Then held close, to pray for my heart.

Firelike shards stab the crease of my chest,
I hear, "Struggle no longer, and welcome this Rest."
I see angels call out with songlike voices.
They take me to the light, and my heart rejoices!

"Come with us, now, we need you" they said,
And felt oddly hot as my world turned red....
