Rhythm and Blues

By: Mikaili

Rhythm and Blues
Blues and Rhythm
Its bumpin rhythm makes me move fluidly across my living room floor
Its Blues sends tears from my eyes as Lauryn kills me so softly while Mary J. tells me of Real Love
Anita Baker sings melodies filled with rhythm to match the blues that balances with the deepness of her voice so deep that it reaches down to the depths of my soul and soothes me
And im so in tune with En Vogue ‘s smooth moves across my body shivers roam
And Aliyah is hot like fiyah as she raises above the flames of the plane crash
Dru Hill explains what they wanna do to me
As I swing my hips gracefully
Usher Makes Me Wanna…
And Brandy has me Sittin Up In My Room
It’s just one of those days as Monica flashes onto my TV screen
My African dance praises Earth Wind and Fire
as their musical instruments tell my body how to move
The Whispers whisper in my ear
As the beat goes on
So many sounds that move my soul take me back
To another time, another place, another memory
From old school to new school
All schools move me!
