This is a poem I wrote at school.
Fall back!
That's the cry I hear,
the way I know that that 'ack*
is come too near.
I lay near the sandwall and wait
for when they come around,
we'll be ready posthaste.
I hit one man behind the head and knock him out cold.
Then put my gun to his head...
and stop... I look and see he's not old.
That was the day I realized war is wrong. I look and see the young man not older than nineteen. He stirred and I kicked his gun away, I helped him to his feet.
I sent him to the guards and looked,
I felt horrible here...
