now is the time for the pro-life and moderate camps to stand up
note:this is my first time trying to write a political commentary, so forgive me if its a bit rusty

Roar with all Your Might
Every child comes with the message that God is not yet discouraged of man-Rabindranath Tagore

Since the passing of Roe vs. Wade, over 48 million (The ACLU vs. America) of those messages have been sent back. Eight times the number of those reportedly killed in the Holocaust, 48 times the number the Persians marched on Thermopile, and the population of the planet for the first millennia A.D. (Idolphin.org).
Some of these abortions were done for reasons such as the women’s life was in jeopardy but as medical advancement has increased, so to has the amount of these cases. In a study conducted by the Journal of Marriage and the Family, 100% of Protestants asked said they would approve of such abortions. So would I, yet now abortion laws have changed so much that a minor can get a taxpayer-funded bus to a taxpayer-funded abortion clinic without either parental consent or approval. If you’re a radical feminist and don’t want to “go shop at Costco and buy big jars of mayonnaise” then you can get a doctor to inject potassium chloride into the underdeveloped hearts of your unborn babies (100 People who are screwing up America).
Right now the pro-life movement has a potentially once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The Republican Party controls the House of Representatives, the senate, and the presidency. Now there is a vacancy in the Supreme Court and President Bush has responded by nominating Judge Samual Alito Jr. to the stand.
As expected, the liberal elite have formed their ranks to oppose Judge Alito tooth and claw. Like with the John Roberts nomination, many of the claims are distortions at best or outright lies at worst.
The first attack was over the case Casey vs. Planned Parenthood of Southern Pennsylvania. Under fire was the abortion control act that called for both spousal notification and parental consent. There was an exception made for such things as medical emergencies, abusive spouses, or neglectful parents. Judge Alito voted in the minority that the law was constitutional. He used the same “undue burden” standard used by Justice Sandra Day O’Conner; having no idea that when this would come before her the next year that she would take a turn to the left and vote in favor of Planned Parenthood.
In the same vein are the claims that these are “extremist views” or is an “anti-woman ruling.” In a poll taken shortly after the ruling, almost 80% of the people were in support of the abortion control act. Every study has since reported between 60-80 percent of those surveyed are in favor of measures like spousal notification. To say that the views of Judge Alito were extreme would be to marginalize the vast majority of the people of the nation. Also, even if every man was in favor of spousal notification (and assuming that men made up 50% of the survey) then it wouldn’t make any sense to say that Alito was a male chauvinist. Over half of the women surveyed would have had to have voted “yes” in order to make up the 30% difference.
Which brings up a related lie that liberals often use: branding those that disagree with them as chauvinistic pigs. According to recent polls, both men and women are divided over the issue of abortion. Also, it should be noted that there are a lot of woman who are hurt by abortion. The book, Forbidden Grief, chronicles women of all stripes-conservatives and liberals-who underwent depression after they had abortion. Some of them had fractured psyches for years afterwards. That and the obvious fact that statistically half of those unborn “messages from God” are female means a pro-lifer could actually argue he’s pro-woman.
Despite what I might like to happen, overturning Roe vs. Wade will not end the practice of abortion. Thirty states already had the right to an abortion by 1973. What will happen is that overturning Roe vs. Wade will return the right to an abortion to where it belongs-the legislatures and the people who elect those people to office. Oh, and most people are in favor of abortion in at least some circumstances. So with the exception of a decree from the Supreme Court (which probably won’t happen) declaring abortion illegal, those liberal feminists will still be able to go to places like California and Oregon.
Speaking of Roe, even some liberals don’t like how it was decided. Both Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the legal professor at Harvard believe it was decided incorrectly (both just like the results so they won’t act on that belief). So once again it’s a lie to say Alito’s view that there isn’t a constitutional right to an abortion is extreme-it would even end up labeling women like Ruth Bader Ginsburg as a “radical right-winger”.
This is once again a groundbreaking chance for the pro-life movement to stand up and let their voices will be heard. It will be hard-as demonstrated by the latest proceedings over a bill requiring parental consent (a bill that hasn’t been ruled upon) however the wall separating the unborn from “personhood” can be chipped away.
About the quote from the beginning of the paper. Now is the time to show God that we are not tired of him.
