It's a snowy night tonight, and I was watching it fall...
The street light shines a dark umber, almost dark orange. Flakes of snow, each one different, falling, swirling like a droplet caught in a hurricane.

The wind started up, making the swirling more intense. The hurricane intensifying with every knot of wind. Flakes swirling faster and faster, disturbed here and there by a passing car.

I stood at the window, gazing out at this wonderland of nature. Curious, how could nature create this beauty? Each flake different, no two alike they say. Each flake buffeted by the wind, coated by rain before making their way gently to the ground.

The mountains of snow I remember as a child, each one created by nights like tonight. Where the street lights shine a dark umber, almost dark orange. The flakes are each one different, whipped around by the wind, swirling to the earth, to wait out the winter season, and see what the next storms brings.
