Written for my daughter.
A smile of mutual friendship,
A merry twinkle in your eye,
So full of life and vigour,
So good you never cry.

Your cheeks of rosy redness,
Your mischievous grin of glee,
Curious to the world around,
So many sights to see.

Your long brown hair, spiralling down,
Curling gracefully,
Bouncing round your face of gold,
I'm so pround you belong to me.

Just one thing I'd like to say,
Before you and I must part,
You my precious gift from God,
I love you with all my heart.
