How does one truly examine Time... one poet's attempt
The passage of time
A wondrous thing
Following no rules we discern

At once so fast
Eluding our grasp
Escapes notice as clocks turn

Then ponderously slow,
Wishing it would move
From this time to the next

Still moment there are
That stop altogether
Forever captured in heart and mind

These defy even time
Perfection stored
That our souls may bind

We cannot grasp
Nor even know
The sand that will flow

Only time will tell
Its purpose its own
Our destinies carried along

And yet we mark
Each new day
Souls open to the song

As morning breaks
So hearts awake
We are fascinated again
with the passage of time
