This is love
I sang with you,
in those quiet afternoons,
I saw the girls,
so obvouisly swoon.
I never thought,
we were any more,
than just two people,
singing and stumming chords.
We were friends,
so simple and still,
we never knew,
of those sad, white, pills.
We cried at night,
alone in our rooms,
yet when we sang together,
worries no longer loomed.
No longer haunted us,
just were chased away,
and left us so raw,
eventually we had to fall.
We fell so hard,
one of those days,
when we looked at each other,
and feelings poured through, so many ways.
It changed,
right there in that day,
with the blossoms falling from the trees,
in the middle of may.
So, there I was,
sitting with my hand in yours,
and our voices carried,
under the doors.
People stopped,
and my parents stared,
the promise was made then,
one silent swear.
We would never part,
and we still hold true,
always and forever,
me and you.
